Ian Spencer and industrial designer Cairn Young together form the Yard Sale Project, through which they produce one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture that combine computer-aided design and time-tested construction techniques. The Roccapina series challenges the traditional view of what a bench should look like: it is asymmetrical and comprised of many types of hardwood, giving the surface a crisp patchwork quality with both light and dark colors.
