Peter Schlesinger was born in Los Angeles in 1948 and is currently based in New York City. He studied at UCLA, UC-Santa Cruz and the Slade School of Art in London. He was awarded a Tiffany Fellowship in 1993, and in 2003 published the book "Checkered Past", a photographic chronicle of his life in London in the 1970s. His ceramic sculptures have been featured in at PS1 Contemporary Art Center in the exhibition Irrational Profusion: Nicole Cherubini, Marc Leuthold, Joyce Robins, and Peter Schlesinger.
