Peter Lane is a New York City-based artist who exhibits internationally, with gallery representation in Paris, London, New York, Tokyo and Los Angeles. His ceramics are included in many private and public collections including Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. His work is distinguished by it’s direct, raw, almost brutal technique, combined with an elegant and luxurious finish and execution. His thick, spontaneous reliefs and patterns are a direct reflection of his sense for the plasticity and immediacy of raw clay. All the work is made individually, by hand, by Lane himself. He is often commissioned by designers to make work for specific applications, and approaches each piece with a unique perspective, so every project is customized to the individual application.
